This is the very first step in producing the perfect cup of Rabea tea. Trained tea tasters in the company’s buying and blending department receive 1000’s of different samples of tea from tea gardens around the world each week, and by tasting each sample pick only the very best for purchasing at the various weekly tea auctions .This is a very selective process and only around 3% of all teas sampled end up being bought. After another quality post auction, the teas are ready for shipment to the A.M.S Baeshen & Co. Tea Factory in Jeddah.
The sacks of raw tea are stacked onto pallets, each pallet holding 20 sacks of the same grade of tea. These pallets are loaded into shipping containers and after arriving at Jeddah port, are brought to the A.M.S Baeshen & Co. Tea Factory, where a sample from each pallet of tea is taken for tasting and other important quality checks before they are allowed to enter the company’s inventory.
A small sample from each pallet is stored in the buying and blending department and is given a unique pallet number which is entered into the sophisticated computer system which tracks the movement of teas from the time they are purchased to the time the tea finally leaves the factory. Using blend recipes which are closely guarded, the blenders mix up to 20 different types of tea together to produce the final product blend. Miniature blends are compiled first to check the quality is fully up to standard before the full scale blends are released for production.
Compiling & Screening Stage:
Once the blenders have released the blend to the factory, the warehouse staff picks all the required pallets of tea for the particular blend from their storage racks and brings them to the blending hall, where the teas are emptied out onto a moving conveyor. The teas are fed over various sieves and magnets to ensure the tea is cleaned of any extraneous materials .It is now ready to feed into the blending drum for final mixing.
Different types of tea leaves are mixed in special machines through an automated process to insure the highest standards of quality. This stage is done under the close supervision of the quality control department to achieve Rabea Tea’s authentic and unique taste.
Once the mixing stage is complete, random samples are drawn by laboratory specialists to insure that required levels of quality, flavor, and color are obtained.
Tea is placed in special conservation nurseries for a specific period of time and under a controlled atmosphere. During this stage the Mixing stage is ongoing.
This is the first step in the final stages. Tea samples are taken from the production lines for tasting and final quality checking to ensure the final product fully meets the required standards. In addition, the product is weighted and sized before packaging. The weight of each packaged product is digitally recorded.
In the second step, loose tea leaves are transported for packing and packaging by modern automated machines. Multiple production lines are working to accommodate the various product sizes available for the market. As for Rabea Express Teabags, they are transported to a special production line for teabag packaging.
Storage and Supply:
This is the final step in the production stages. The final product is stored in special warehouses with special height, venting system, building material, floors, and loading trucks.
The finished product is then shipped and distributed to the markets inside and outside the kingdom, through a sophisticated distribution network and a large fleet of trucks and vans.
