Black and Green Tea

 
 

Tea leaves contain more than 700 chemicals including; flavanoides, amino acids, vitamins (C, E, and K), and caffeine. Therefore; the consumption of green and black tea is usually associated with lower health risks. There are some well known health benefits associated with tea such as, normalizing blood pressure, preventing coronary heart diseases, boosting the immune system, and an anti-diabetes effect.

Flavonoids, which give tea its unique flavor, are antioxidant compounds available in both green and black tea leaves. They help prevent damage to cells caused from exposure to pollution, smog, cigarette smoke, pesticides or drugs.

In addition to Caffeine, which helps boost mental clarity and alertness, tea contains Catechin Polyphenols that raise Thermogenesis (the rate at which calories are burned) which helps increase metabolism causing weight loss.

Three cups of tea per day can help provide 70% of your daily Fluoride intake. Fluoride is needed to support bone mineralization and protect teeth against dental caries. Other compounds found in black tea may help attack harmful bacteria in the mouth that causes gum disease and cavities.

Tea’s nutritional content consists of Traces of protein, carbohydrates, amino acids and lipids. It also consists of zero calories and significant quantities of vitamins (A, B & C), and minerals such as Manganese and Potassium. And since there are large percentages of people who take tea with milk, it is a good source of calcium.

Finally; drinking tea counts towards your recommended, 8 glasses of water, intake of fluids per day. It helps keep the body hydrated, and is essential for a healthy functioning body.

Herbal teas can be used to treat a wide range of health issues, and may provide a range of health benefits as well.

Chamomile teas have been used for centuries as a mild treatment for fevers, colds, flues, stomach disturbances, and as an anti-inflammatory. Its calming effects may help relieve restlessness, tension, feelings of anxiety, migraine, tension headache and insomnia.

Hibiscus teas are rich in Vitamin C, A and beta-carotene. They are used for their high content of antioxidant, and their wide range of mild medicinal properties to remedy: cough, debility, dyspepsia, fever, and hypertension.

Anise herbal tea is used to relief stomach disturbances, colic and heartburn, stress and irritation, as well as some respiratory problems such as tight chest and bronchitis.
